Day trip to Positano – From Naples – Best Itinerary

You can’t say you visited Naples without seeing Amalfi Cost. A day trip in Capri, Positano, or Ischia is the cherry on top of your trip. I chose to visit Positano for all the charm, beauty, and breathtaking views it offers. Positano is a small village, but home to a lot of colorful houses, stunning restaurants, and a gorgeous beach. So get ready to visit as soon as possible, especially if you are in Naples. Positano day trip is one of the best things you can do when in Naples.

Best time to visit Positano?

Positano is very touristy so you can expect it to be very pricy and overcrowded. The best time to visit it is from late April to early October, but the perfect time to visit Positano will be from late April to early June and from mid-September to early October. In this period you will find less crowds, more calm and more “normal” prices. So you will get the best from this experience. Will have the chance to take more beautiful pictures and to find a seat in the restaurant you like.

You will never get enough of Positano and you can easily spend three to four days in this amazing village because it has so much to offer than just e beach with a beautiful view. But I would say that even just one day or better a day trip in Positano (especially if you visit during the perfect time I mentioned above) is enough time to really enjoy the village.

If you are wondering if getting around in Positano will be difficult, nope! Positano is very walkable. If you choose the last option to reach Positano, public transport, is true that the bus stops you a little bit far from the beach but don’t worry. There are a lot of panoramic views on the road so you will not feel tired. It takes about 15 minutes from the bus stop to the beach but I made it for 30 minutes, stopping along the way, taking pictures, and enjoying the views.

What to keep in mind on your day trip to Positano:

Positano is a very friendly village to visit, the people are used to tourists, they are very kind, is easy to get around and everyone helps you if you feel lost or have any questions. But still, there are a few things I suggest you keep in mind when visiting Positano:

Firstly you should bring a pair of comfortable shoes to walk around and climb the best viewpoints.

Don’t forget to bring with you bath suits, floral dresses (lemon print clothes), sunscreen… and a camera or phone to take pictures.

I recommend you make a reservation for sun umbrellas or places you want to eat especially if you are visiting Positano in high season.
