Bran Castle from Brasov:
Bran Castle is only 30km away from Brasov. So the Brasov to Bran Castle trip is easy and convenient.
By bus:
As the most convenient option, I suggest you take the bus from Autogara 2 Bus Station to Dracula Castle. It takes around 45 minutes to reach the castle and the ticket costs around 2.5 euros.
The bus is scheduled to leave from this station every 30 minutes.
By taxi:
If you want more flexibility and comfort I suggest you take a taxi from the city center to Bran Castle. Is obvious that the cost is higher, you may expect to pay around 60-70 euros roundtrip. Taxi is also the quickest option to visit Bran Castle. It takes around 35 minutes from Brasov to Bran Castle.

There are also a lot of travel guides and tours that operate between Brasov and Dracula Castle. If you prefer, you can also book a tour or a guided tour of Dracula Castle.

Route: Buses depart from the Filaret Bus Station in Bucharest to Brasov. Once in Brasov, you can take a bus or taxi to Bran.

Option: Joining a guided tour from Bucharest to Bran Castle is a convenient option. Tours often include transportation, a guide, and sometimes additional stops at nearby attractions.
How much time do you need in Bran Castle:
To truly absorb the castle’s medieval charm and explore its winding corridors, plan to spend around two to three hours navigating its fascinating chambers. This timeframe allows for a leisurely stroll through the castle’s historic rooms, providing ample opportunity to uncover the tales woven into its stone walls.
I spent around two hours inside the castle and it was just enough to explore it all.
You will find beautiful spots and a cute market outside the castle. And to explore all of this consider adding another 2 hours to your itinerary.
So, half a day is enough time to explore Dracula Castle and its surroundings.

Best time to visit Bran Castle:
The best time to visit Bran Castle is during the shoulder seasons of spring (April to June) and fall (September to October). During these months, the weather is generally mild, and there are fewer crowds compared to the peak summer season. Spring brings blooming landscapes and comfortable temperatures, while fall offers beautiful autumn foliage.
But, I visited Dracula Castle in the winter and it was just magic. It was snowing and the castle was surrounded by snow. Everything seemed like something out of a fairy tale. Furthermore, the castle has such a great theme for Halloween, so you may consider visiting the Castle by the end of November. You will not be disappointed.
Additionally, visiting on weekdays rather than weekends can help you avoid larger crowds. It’s advisable to plan your visit early in the day to further minimize congestion.
